How often can I press the button for medical questions or information?
You can press for a Medical Specialist as often as you need. In many cases symptoms appear 3 to 5 days before an emergency occurrence: call early! Our mission is to help prevent the emergency from ever happening!

How do I order service?
Ordering your medical alert system takes as little as 5 or 10 minutes. You will need to provide the name, address, and phone number of the protected person. You will also need to decide who Pedia-Safe will call in an emergency. Many customers have a list of 2-3 names that may include neighbors or nearby relatives. The list may also include your local 911 or other emergency dispatch. Pedia-Safe will obtain your local emergency numbers, if needed. Pedia-Safe will also allow you to add a "Notify" list. This list is names of people Pedia-Safe will call after help has been dispatched. These people may not be able to provide help, but need to know if an emergency has occurred.
When you order you will also need to provide your initial payment using a credit card or other approved method.

How quickly can I receive service?
Pedia-Safe ships your medical alarm the next day if the order is received by 3:00 PM Eastern Time. Our standard shipping method is UPS Ground. Ask your representative about the various shipping options available if you need a faster method.

Who installs the Pedia-Safe Medical Alarm Service?
Pedia-Safe is easy to install! There are no complicated installation procedures. We ship the medical alarm system to you. Our medical alarm systems simply plug into an electrical outlet and a telephone jack. Inside of your package you will receive a toll-free number to our Emergency Call Center. You simply call them anytime and they will walk you through installation and test the system.

Who provides maintenance and is there a cost?
Pedia-Safe is responsible for all service and repair as well as battery replacements at no extra cost. Your medical alarm and wearable transmitters have a 100% lifetime replacement warranty.

What payment options are available?
Pedia-Safe accepts Credit Cards and Checks through Automatic Withdrawal (ACH). For Nurse-Line and Emergency services we bill you monthly; or you can choose to pay Annually at a discounted rate.

Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, you may terminate our service at any time for any reason. Your account in effect is a month to month arrangement; you may stop at any time.

Can more than one person be protected at a location?
You can have more than one person in the same home protected through Pedia-Safe with an extra help remote; for just $5.95 per month per person we will supply you with extra pendants. There is a one time activation and programming fee of $9.95 for each additional remote.

Yes, information can be changed anytime and as many times as needed at no charge.

What if I move can the medical alarm move with me?
Yes, you can easily take the system with you anywhere you live. Simply contact us at least 24 hours in advance of your move. You can even take it with you if you have a winter or summer home. It is very easy to unplug and re-install. Simply notify Pedia-Safe of your current location. Information can be changed anytime and as many times as needed at no charge.
*This is not recommended for short term moves that are less than two weeks.

How far away from the system can I be and still be heard?
The Pedia-Safe system is designed to allow communication from every room in an average home. Our Specialists can usually speak with you regardless of what room in the house you are in. However, in an emergency where you are unable to speak with us because of a heart attack, choking, stroke, etc. we will immediately dispatch Emergency Medical Teams to your house

Does the system work if I am outside my house?
Yes! If you are within 150 feet of your house, the system will still work. We will not be able to speak with you because you will be out of “voice” range of the Pedia-Safe emergency response system, but we will know that you are in trouble and we will dispatch emergency rescue to your home immediately.

On average it takes about thirty seconds. Once connected our quality care center will begin speaking with you, to see how we can assist you.

How will Emergency Services access my home if the door is locked?
Pedia-Safe can provide you with a key lockbox that holds a key to your door. The key lockbox is a secure box which easily attaches to your home. Local emergency personnel are given the combination to the lockbox so they can quickly get a key to your home in the event of an emergency. The lockbox can also be used so that family members or friends can readily get a key to your home when necessary. You can purchase a lockbox through us or lease on a month to month basis.

What if my electricity goes out?
The Pedia-Safe system includes a back-up battery that will operate the unit for up to 18 hours after an electrical outage. As soon as power is restored the battery will recharge itself, and be ready for any future power outages.

What if I accidentally set off my alarm?
This is not a problem. When the operator calls you over the Pedia-Safe system simply tell them that you accidentally pressed the button. They will then disconnect and no further action will be taken. Our emergency service providers are available 24 hours a day for your needs.

Can I wear your 2-Button Remote as a Wristband as well as a Pendant?
Yes. Our patented design allows for dual use; as a Pendant worn around the neck with an adjustable break-away chain, or, as a wristband; much like you would wear a watch.

Is this service covered by Medicare, Medicade or my Insurance?
You should check with your insurance provider to see if they will cover your medical alarm. If you have a claim or a prescription for a medical alarm, payment must be arranged between the two of you. Payment is usually made to you on a reimbursement type basis.

Can Pedia-Safe listen in and invade my privacy? What about identity theft?
The answer to both of these questions is NO! Our two way communication technology does not allow for eavesdropping and we do not transmit over the internet so identity theft is not possible
